Connect Your WhatsApp

Log into the Chatbridge dashboard and go to "Connect WhatsApp". Open WhatsApp on your phone, tap the three dots (Android) or Settings (iPhone) and choose "Linked Devices". Scan the QR code and you're connected.

Configure & Moderate

Once your WhatsApp is connected, set up your receiving group or number. All incoming messages appear instantly in the Chatbridge dashboard. From there you can approve, reject or edit every message before it goes live on your stream.

Chatbridge works with any software that can read JSON or CSV data feeds. This includes vMix, OBS Studio, XSplit, Wirecast and many other tools. As long as the software can load external data URLs, Chatbridge works with it.
Yes! Chatbridge works with both personal WhatsApp accounts and WhatsApp Business accounts. You can link any WhatsApp account you have access to. The only requirement is that your phone is connected to the internet.
Every message coming through WhatsApp first appears in your Chatbridge dashboard. From there you choose: approve (message goes to the feed and becomes visible on stream), reject (message is not shown) or edit (modify the text before publishing). You can also add contacts to a spam list (all their messages are silently blocked) or enable slow mode (limit them to one message every X seconds). You always have full control.
The Basic plan includes text messages, the moderation system, auto-reply and ad-free use. The Pro plan adds image support (display photos sent via WhatsApp on your stream) plus AI-powered auto-reply using OpenAI or Claude.
With AI Reply (Pro plan), you connect your own OpenAI or Claude API key and provide a custom context — for example info about your show, FAQs or rules. When a message comes in, the AI generates a smart reply based on that context and sends it automatically. You can configure the word limit and reply frequency (every message, every N messages, or on a time interval).
Chatbridge offers three feed formats: JSON (full data object with all message fields), CSV (comma-separated for spreadsheet-compatible imports) and Condensed (an ultra-simple "Name: message" plain-text format ideal for vMix Data Title overlays).
The WhatsApp connection depends on your phone being online (similar to WhatsApp Web). If your phone goes offline, the connection pauses. As soon as your phone comes back online, Chatbridge automatically resumes the connection. Make sure your phone always has an active internet connection during a broadcast.
With auto-reply you set up an automatic response sent to everyone who sends a message to your linked WhatsApp number. You can configure three modes: Every message (reply to each message), Interval (reply once every X minutes per sender) or Count (reply once every N messages). Available on Basic and Pro plans.
